Convenient Access from Center Grove
School drop-off and a dental checkup can share the same morning when the office is only 7 minutes from Center Grove Elementary. Charmoy Dental Associates is a family practice on Route 10 in Randolph, and parents who want a dentist near Center Grove can bring a preschooler, a fifth grader and themselves to one team. Hygienists, dentists and periodontists work together here, so cleanings, fillings, aligners and gum care stay under one roof.
From the school lot at 25 School House Road, head north on Schoolhouse Road, which becomes Center Grove Road (County Route 670) with no turn needed. Along the way you pass the Brotherton House, an 1876 cottage at number 52 that the township lists as a historic landmark. Cohn Farm Park, a township open space, sits along this same county road.
County Route 670 ends at Route 10 by the Dover line. Go west on Route 10 for about 1.9 miles, past the County College of Morris and the Dover-Chester Road intersection, to 924 NJ-10, Randolph, NJ 07869. The office sits between Arrowgate Drive and Flower Horn Boulevard, a short way east of Canfield Avenue.
All told, the trip covers 3.6 miles and takes about 7 minutes, with no tolls and no highway merges. Pull up our Google Maps listing to set directions from your own street. Families from nearby Mount Freedom and Shongum visit us too.
Where Center Grove Households Fit In
Center Grove has no official boundary. Locally, the name covers the neighborhood around the elementary school and the length of County Route 670 in north-central Randolph Township. The name is old. An 1882 history of Morris County mentions the Center Grove school-house and records that Daniel Carrell bought the farm beside it in 1739, where his family stayed for generations.
Today the area is a place of single-family homes, school buses and weekend ball games. Randolph as a whole counted about 26,500 residents in the 2020 census, and roughly one in four was under 18. Most homes across the township are owner-occupied, which means many families stay put long enough to keep the same dentist from a child's first tooth to college.
That kind of long relationship is what our office is built for. A parent can book a cleaning, sit in on a child's exam and ask about a grandparent's loose partial in a single visit. The same chart follows every family member, so nothing gets lost between appointments.
Hours help too. We see patients until 7 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and until 6 PM on Wednesdays, which leaves room for an after-school slot even on a busy week. Friday mornings run from 8 AM to 1 PM.
Outdoor time is part of growing up here. Randolph's 16-mile township trail system crosses the 111 undeveloped acres of Cohn Farm Park and links it with Brundage Park and Freedom Park. Kids who hike, bike and scramble on those paths keep us busy with the occasional bumped lip or chipped edge.
Young Teeth Between the Elementary School and Freedom Park
Center Grove Elementary serves children from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade, about 530 of them in the 2022-23 school year. In 2022 the U.S. Department of Education named it a National Blue Ribbon School, a first for Randolph Township Schools. A school that size means a neighborhood full of baby teeth, wiggly front teeth and first molars coming in.
Those years matter more than many parents expect. The first permanent molars usually arrive around age six, and their deep grooves trap food easily. Regular cleanings and fluoride treatments give that new enamel a better start, and a hygienist can spot early decay long before it hurts.
Lunchboxes play a part as well. Crackers, fruit snacks and juice boxes cling to teeth through the afternoon, while cheese, crunchy vegetables and water rinse them clean. Small swaps like these add up over a school year.
Freedom Park sits about half a mile south of the school, with lighted Little League, Babe Ruth, lacrosse and football fields. Kids who play there take the occasional ball or elbow to the mouth. A chipped front tooth is common, and most can be repaired so the bite and the smile both look natural again.
After fifth grade, students move on to Randolph Middle School and then Randolph High School on Millbrook Avenue. That is also when crowding and bite problems become obvious. Starting the conversation about alignment early gives a family more options and less pressure later.
How a Dentist Near Center Grove Cares for Every Age
Preventative Dentistry
Checkups, x-rays, fluoride and polishing are the backbone of a child's dental health. We like to see young patients every six months so small problems never grow into big ones.
Invisalignยฎ
Clear, removable aligners straighten teeth without brackets or wires. Middle schoolers and parents alike can take trays out for meals, sports and photos.
Tooth Extractions
Sometimes a baby tooth refuses to fall out, or a damaged adult tooth cannot be saved. We remove it carefully and talk through what comes next before anything is scheduled.
Restorative Dentistry
Fillings, crowns and bridges rebuild teeth that decay or a fall from a bike has damaged. Parents who have put off their own repairs can often finish them in the same months as their children's visits.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Whitening and porcelain veneers brighten or reshape a smile. Moms and dads heading into a family wedding or a new job often start here once the kids are settled.
Teens finishing orthodontic treatment sometimes notice chalky marks where brackets used to sit, and our white spot treatment page explains how we handle them. You can also see what a routine visit includes on our cleanings and exams page.
Meet Your Randolph Dental Team
Patients often mention the gentle touch of Dr. Laura Castro, which matters a great deal to a nervous five-year-old. She earned her undergraduate degree at New York University and her dental degree at UMDNJ in 1996. Dr. Michael Schultz, a 2001 UMDNJ graduate, rounds out the doctor team alongside our hygienists and periodontists.
Insurance & Financing
Our office accepts a wide range of plans, including Aetna, Cigna and Horizon Young Grins for patients 19 and under. New patients without insurance and without periodontal disease can book a $99 cleaning, exam, x-ray and fluoride treatment, a $428 value. CareCredit and Cherry are available for larger treatment plans.

What People Are Saying
Frequently Asked Questions
How far is Charmoy Dental Associates from Center Grove, and how do I get there?
Our office is 3.6 miles from Center Grove Elementary, roughly a 7-minute drive. Follow Schoolhouse Road and County Route 670 north to Route 10, then head west. Parents choosing a dentist near Center Grove like that the whole trip uses county roads and Route 10, with no tolls or interstate.
At what age should a Center Grove preschooler have a first dental visit?
By the first birthday, or within six months of the first tooth appearing, is the common recommendation. Plenty of children start later, and that is fine. A first visit for a pre-K student is short and friendly, mostly a look around, a count of teeth and tips for parents on brushing.
Is Center Grove a separate town from Randolph?
No. It is a section of Randolph Township with no official boundary of its own. Residents use the name for the area around the elementary school on School House Road and the county road that shares its name. Schools and township services are all Randolph, and our office on Route 10 is in the same township.
Can I book my kindergartner and my Randolph High student on the same afternoon?
Yes, and many families do exactly that. Let the front desk know how many people need appointments, and we will line the visits up back to back. Late openings until 7 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays make it easier to collect one child from the elementary school and the other from practice first.
What can be done about white spots left on teeth after braces come off?
They can usually be treated. These chalky patches often form where plaque sat around brackets, and our office offers a dedicated white spot treatment for them. The dentist checks the enamel first, then recommends the gentlest approach that fits your teen's teeth and timing.
